My first attempt at a cake for someone other than family. It was a nail-biter as I had never put my own, hand-made gumpaste flowers on a cake and was unsure of whether a delicate cake would handle the weight. A lot of prayer and many hours of what was a true labor of love – and everyone (most importantly, the bride and groom) was pleased. I must say, I was too.
