For some strange reason I got talked into entering the 30th squires kitchen exhibition competition back in march of this year. I’ve only really been making cakes since 2014 and all self taught so entering a cake competition was a massive step for me and one I’m not sure I wish to do again as the stress levels delivering it after a 2hr country drive was high to say the least..or at least I will make it a little smaller lol
The wood slice cake was 3" tall, followed by a double barrel watering can, double barrel pail coated in silver leaf and the RTK wellies were 8" tall + flowers and black board sign :0~
I was so pleased to have received a bronze award, 3rd place and highly commended :0)
I can see how people get ‘hooked’ on entering comps.
