After reading Sharon’s great article I was reminded that I never posted this competition cake I made at the end of last year! Life can be crazy can’t it! I worked right through the night to finish it in time…wiring flowers at 3am?….crazy! But I definitely know those of you reading this understand the madness! I made all the sugar flowers, cut each piece of the white pattern and hand drew the toile floral pattern….major hand cramps after that one! Most everyone at the show thought it was a stencil…even the judges! I won 2nd place in the wedding cake section…yay! I encourage all who haven’t been to a cake show to definitely go….they are so much fun….after you have dropped your cake off that is …and you can relax! Oh…and look who I got to meet briefly while waiting to leave when the show closed…..Duff and Geof from Ace of Cakes ! …..can you believe Duff actually took this selfie! What a great weekend that was!
