Peony Golden Wedding Anniversary Cake

This cake is my favourite sort of cake, simple and flowery! Although, I have to say that yesterday covering it was anything other than simple. The sun may not have been shining, but with the heat of children and a tumble dryer my kitchen was roasting. Far from ideal conditions for covering a chocolate cake. The buttercream is always slightly looser and things did not go my way! I got there in the end though, and I am rather pleased with the finished cake.
