I made this cake for For The Love of Children cake collaboration, and it’s based on a book called Alexander and the Wind-Up Mouse by Leo Lionni.

The story is about a mouse called Alexander and his friend Willie. Willie is a toy mouse who is loved by a girl of the house where Alexander lives. On the other hand Alexander is hated by the people who live in the house and is very lonely. One day Willie told Alexander about a magic lizard who can turn an animal into another. Alexander wanted to become a toy mouse and be loved by people, so he started to look for a purple pebble to make his wish come true.

This is one of the many picture books I read to my kids when they were small, and I thought it would look very cute if it was recreated in cake form :)
