Happy Little Campers

1/4 sheet, buttercream icing. Tents are made from rkt covered with fondant. Trees are ice cream cones, iced with buttercream. The Happy Campers have been sculpted with fondant.
I was rushing to complete this cake on time. I was so engrossed in the project, that I didn’t realize the mess I had made until I was finished. Usually, I clean as I go. Does anyone else make this kind of mess?
