This cake was featured in American Cake Decorating Trend issue January 2016.

My trend was pastel metallics. The top was inspired by a brooch bridal bouquet. I wanted to create a stylized calla lily but yet give it a soft fabric look. I used two layers of fondant to soften the edges and make them fuller. In making the fondant brooches, I created my own molds then detailed the stones with edible pastel metalliccolors and incorporated some crystals to simulate the brooches in a more realistic fashion.
