Hi! My name is Magdalena and I am a cake decorator from Poland.
Christmas is the most important and most celebrated religious holiday here (right next to Easter).
Polish Christmas was shaping through centuries – when the pagans’ traditions were mixing with Christians’ habits. Today, Christmas is a family feast, usually celebrated among the loved ones.
Santa you see in my pics is not typical Polish Santa Claus :) He is shown here as LAJKONIK – the most characteristic person from Polish legends.
Lajkonik is a man dressed up as a horse, who performs on the streets of Cracow.
By choosing this figure I wanted to show you how rich and colourful Polish culture is.
