Getting To Zero Team Red

Getting To Zero Team Red

It is my honor to post my contribution entitled “Ribbons” in the amazing collaboration of Sugar Artists in Getting To Zero, spearheaded by Zawadi Parizek to raise awareness and funding so we will get to a generation of zero infants born with HIV.

My inspiration was all the pictures of the ribbons, the hope they symbolize, pride felt in wearing them, and the love behind making them. It was an easy decision that they would be the focus of my piece. The shape of the ribbons has been used by many groups but it is the color red that conveys HIV awareness. My wish, hope, and dream is we wipe out this terrible disease and to end the suffering by old and young alike. My piece was created with Icing Images Premium wafer paper, hand-made sugar pearls, fondant covered sugar raisers, Dinkydoodle Airbrush, and Satin Ice Fondant.

Read below for additional information and go and visit the page to see all the amazing pieces by incredibly talented artists it was a privileged to work with.

A coalition of sugar artists have come together to support The Global Fund in its fight against HIV, TB, and Malaria. We are so close to stopping the transmission of HIV from mother to child that me may actually have a Generation born without HIV!! But we are not there yet. Over 600 children are born EVERYDAY with HIV. Please support the 174 artists of the United Nations of Sugar Art by sharing our page and donating to The Global Fund. To find several ways that you can make a difference please read the pinned post and view our Digital ART Gallery.
