My contribution to the UNSA Team Read Collaboration. The image of the pregnant woman is an image I drew when I was pregnant with my daughter and was marveling over the circle of life. Her arms make the infinity symbol and she is holding her pregnant belly within that symbol. Here I have made the image trail off into a red ribbon for AIDS awareness. The flowers on top represent the mother (large white), the child (small bud) and HIV/AIDS (the red flower). I wanted to express in a simple way how we can keep the circle of life going by stopping the transmission of HIV from mother to child. In the flowers, the mother flower stands between her child and HIV. “Getting to Zero” means getting to the point there are zero babies born with HIV. The UNSA Team Red “Getting to Zero” Sugar Art Collaboration aims to support the Global Fund to stop the transmission of HIV. We are so close to stopping the transmission of HIV from mother to child that we may actually have a Generation born without HIV!! But we are not there yet. Over 600 children are born EVERYDAY with HIV. Please support the 174 artists of the United Nations of Sugar Art by sharing our page and donating to The Global Fund. To find several ways that you can make a difference please read the pinned post and view our Digital ART Gallery.
