Down on the Farm

My lovely little nephew was having a farmyard themed first birthday party so I wanted to create a cake that was as fun and lovely as he is. It was a triple layered victoria sponge (vanilla) filled with strawberry jam and buttercream. I hand modelled all of the animals and added a little duck pond for Harrys favourite quack quacks as well as some mud for the pigs to roll in! It was a bit of a departure from my usual flowers and lace but I loved how it turned out and by keeping to pastel colours I was able to still keep to my usual pretty style. A few little flowers still snuck in!
