Delighted to share my piece for the Spirited Away – A Studio Ghibli Cake Collaboration, for Dublin’s Culture Night 2015. For this collaboration, I wanted to do something a little different from my usual style, as it’s always great to be able to challenge yourself without the constraints of customer budgets! I took a bit of a risk, as I had never used cocoa butter to paint with before, and hadn’t really tried painting since I was at school many years ago! I was delighted with how it turned out though, and will definitely be painting on cake again :-) The piece was finished off with some alpine sugar flowers, and I added some texture to the painting with small cut-out flowers and royal icing.
