Edwardian Fashion Cake designed for Cake Masters magazine “Fashion Through the Decades.” I was so honored when Jacki of Blissfully Sweet asked me to be a part of fashion through cake in the September issue. And then I saw the company I was keeping and just about fainted – haha! This design was definitely different from anything I have created before, I hope I represented the feminine feeling of the decade well!

My decade was 1900-1910 and I chose my inspiration from the iconic fashion house, The House of Worth. I loved the intricate handmade lace and embellishments reflected in the gowns of that era. I used layers of gathered edible Cake Lace lace textured fondant, gathered ruffles embellished with sugar pearls and intricate buttons and brooches. I finished the design with graphite gumpaste sugar flowers. Thank you to Jacki and Rosie at Cake Masters for asking me to be a part of this beautiful fashion feature available in this month’s issue. And be sure to check out the 9 amazing designs created for the fashion decades from 1900-2000! <3 Shannon
