Baroque frills wedding cake

i made this cake for the wedding exhibition today. It was very much a playing cake of techniques I had wanted to try.

The marbled double-height tier and the clustered roses detailing were inspired by all the decorative touches we saw around Italy this week. (Although I changed them to a wine pink).
The magnolia style veined wafer paper flower inspired the painting on the double barrel tier

The wafer paper ruffles I learnt from a tutorial by the fabulous kara.

I had always wanted to make succulents for a wedding cake and made these by following alan dunns exotic flowers craftsy class

Supplies: wafer paper sugarflair antique gold dust sugarflair dusky pink paste colour paper covered wire florist paste

Tools: sugar city rose mould fmm curlicue mould parrot tulip veiner
