My contribution to A Walk On the Wild Side sugar shoe collaboration. My inspiration came from my fascination with mythology and legends and my absolute favourite, DRAGONS!, known in many cultures from Europe to China. A symbol of protection to some, chaos and evil to others and in Asia it’s a symbol of fertility associated with water and the heavens. As I am part European and part Chinese, I have combined the two cultures, hence the two different dragons.
I used a modelling tool to make the imprints on the shoe for the snake skin effect. A pair of tiny scissors were used to snip the fondant to create the texture for the dragons’ bodies.
