It was my daughter’s birthday this week and I got to recreate a cake that I originally made for her 5th birthday. All those years ago she asked if I could make her a 3 tier pink cake with flowers around and a pink fairy. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing but gave it a go anyway!
The cake had no support whatsover, I’d never heard of cake smoothers, wires went straight into the cake so not food safe….you get the idea :)

And the poor fairy’s legs gradually got longer throughout the day :)

But of course she loved it!
So a bit of practice later and I recreated the same cake for her birthday this year….3 tier pink cake with flowers around and a pink fairy. Still lots of room for improvement but hopefully a little different from the first one.
She loves both cakes equally.
It’s true that sometimes it’s the love that you put into a cake that counts x
