Im still jetlagging ….and definitely need another holiday to recover from my flight…but am excited to be back ! Especially because today is the day where I can finally show my creation for Singapores 50th Birthday celebrations ! This was my very first collaboration and it is such an honour and dream come true to be creating a cake for such an occasion. "Celebrate as one "is the theme of my cake….it shows the 4 ethnic races of Singapore..the Eurasians,Chinese, Indian and Malay celebrating this wonderful country ! The Batik tier took me very long as each piece of fondant was cut ,shaped and pasted and then I piped royal icing outlines to give it the proper finish ..but I loved every second I spent on this cake.
The top tier shows a handcrafted Merlion ..a symbol of Singapore (head of a lion and body of a fish) and the national coat of arms …stating Manjulah Singapura…which when translated means “Onwards Singapore !”
