The fairy is made using Modecor modelling paste, isomalt and a kind of rice paper.

“I am a fake artist. I copy what I see and I make it my own with little touches here and there but it is never really mine. The work is its never its own. I will never know the tormented soul of an artist like Van Gogh. And that is why I chose not to render a work of his in my cake but a deadly source of his inspiration and a part of his downfall.
The ‘Green Fairy’ as Absinthe is called, was notorious for being addictive and hallucinogenic. Some say it drove Van Gogh to madness and even to cut off his own ear.
I see it as a metaphor for the anguished soul of an artist, inspiration coming from a dark interior but taken to a level of brilliance by wings of ether”
