My son was lucky enough to get a place at an amazing brand new school and he’s just completed his first year. He asked me to make a cake to celebrate so I came up with this.

On his very first day he went off on residential and climbed a mountain so that seemed apt, the butterflies are part of the school logo (there’s a butterfly for each pupil) and the signposts are there to represent the five character values they expect from each pupil.

My airbrush colours didn’t arrive in time so I had to paint the mountain. The butterflies are wafer paper.

The staff and students all loved it. Thanks for looking x
