Mirrors: Reflections

Mirrors: Reflections

Mary Whalen Leonard was the model here for This Norman Rockwell’s well known painting, the 1954, “Girl in the mirror”. It represents a girl who is not sure she is quite ready for womanhood, with her discarded doll on the side, then a glossy magazine on her lap of a film star depicting maybe a thought she might be that one day. Then on the side the comb, brush and lipstick.
I found this so inspiring as at some point in our young lives, we are faced with the intrigue of what the future holds for us and the crossroads of what paths we may embark on.

I was delighted to partake in a cake group mini collab with the theme being Mirrors.
Cocoa butter onto sugarpaste on a cake board. My interpretation of Norman Rockwell’s masterpiece “Girl in the Mirror”
