This was my little (big!) girl’s Birthday cake this year! Multi-colored vanilla cake layers with vanilla swiss meringue buttercream filling, covered in white fondant. She decorated the cake herself using food color markers – had a BLAST! :) Got the idea from Sweetapolita’s blog!

Thanks so much! Just loved the surprise of cutting the cake and seeing that first slice! I highly recommend Sweetapolita’s method – she even has one on a newer post that uses luster dust mixed with lemon flavoring to make your “paint” and you let the children paint their designs on the outside of the cake :)
