Rustic wedding

Rustic wedding

Made for some dear friends of mine who after a quick registry office ceremony had what they considered to be their ‘real’ wedding in a small field at the back of their house. They underwent a hand fasting ceremony which was a legal form of marriage in England and Wales until 1939 and slipped through as ‘accepted’ in Scotland until the 60’s. It was a beautiful setting with all the guests contributing something to the day (my kids made 100m of bunting from old wrapping paper!!). I’ve been wanting to try my hand at some wood effects for ages and it was really nice to have a go at something a bit different. My first birdcage and night scented Jasmine too, and the silhouette was handpainted. The event was in the late afternoon/evening, which is why I went for a moonlit scene, but of course at this time of year it wasn’t dark!! The cake was made up of chocolate, coffee and vanilla sponges all with corresponding buttercream fillings :)

Thank you for looking! xx
