Today’s cake was ordered by an upcoming bride for her fiancee’s birthday. She wanted a replica of his favourite beer glass, and wanted it to be full of beer! So I made him a VERY foamy beer (extra buttercream anyone?) on a wood grain-fondant-covered board.

The cake was filled then stacked, and carved with my electric knife to get the Pilsner shape.

As far as piping the writing? I was standing, head tilted and piping “upwards” at the point that the glass curved. NOT the easiest when the letters were so small! Still, a text from the client told me they loved it so all is well 😀

It even survived a 40 minute trip down a pot-filled road, driven by the birthday boys grandparents!!
