It’s Squires Exhibtion this weekend.
This was my entry from last year, March 2014. It was the first time I’ve exhibited at Squires and entered the “hand painted two tier wedding cake” category. I was over the moon to recieve a GOLD. award for it.
These are royal iced dummies that I hand painted with cocoa butter. The theme is South Africa and depicted aspects of it so couple of lions, leopards, lilac breasted roller birds on lower tier, and then textile background with hand painted silloutte on second tier. The king protea is the national flower of South Africa and made this entirely from sugar with bought stamens. The board is hand painted too.
This was indeed a creation that came straight from my African Heart… It was a nostalgic journey for me :)
There is a tutorial now on the protea which you can find in my shop (blue “shop” icon on left of page ) on my page https://www.facebook.com/callicious
