Presenting…The Red Carpet Collaboration!

Red Carpet events are THE place to see the boldest and most stunning creations from the design industry. This collaboration is all about celebrating the genius behind the stitches and sketches by transforming fashion into cake!

My cake is inspired by Versace’s design, a dress worn by Naomi Watts in the year 2004.
First of all I would like to thank Laura for giving me this beautiful opportunity to be a part of this lovely collab.Thanks so much Laura. . Must say I loved working for this to bits!And it’s such an honour to have worked around with cake artists whom I absolutely adore!

Milan’s most popular brand Versace has come up with so many awe inspiring designs that skip a heartbeat .My inspiration was the dress of Naomi Watts from The Oscars 2004 designed by Versace.
I’ve tried my level best to come close to the shade as her dress.(I hope I have). Heavily adorned with sequins( can’t thank Kara enough for her winning tutorial ), cut work strips cascading and dangling all over( ooh! I had a tough time sticking that over the sequins)( touched the edges with little drops of Liquid glucose to give the beaded edge look( sigh! not seen in my photos) but you might be able to see them somewhere if you take an in depth look at the details, white fringed peony and a cake stand too that’s made from Fondant and given rustic brush strokes of silver to highlight the accents.
