"Cowboy Up" Auction Cake

Western theme cake in red velvet with cherry buttercream filling and covered in chocolate fondant. Belt was carved to look like tooled leather with a filigree/blossom pattern. Belt buckle included the initials of the organization that the auction was held for and filigree detail around the outside – all brushed with gold petal dust. The top layer included western symbols – saddle, boot, hat, armadillo – inside of dark brown plaques with rope borders. On top of the cake, I placed a lasso and cowboy hat formed out of fondant.
