Household Cavalry State Helmet

This was a cake for a very good friend who served in The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment.
The sponge is lemon with a sugarpaste covering and cut outs from modelling icing. The silver spike is made from pastillage and after searching the for best object to make the plume from I used red florist wire!
