This was for the 80th birthday of the matriarch of a big family, right before Christmas. The theme was red – all the centerpieces were red, the family wore red, and the cake had to have red flowers (and only shades of red). The one concession they made was allowing me to paint the cake gold! And of course the flavor was….red velvet! Haha!
