​My piece for the Sugar Skull Bakers Collaboration 2014 – Mother Kali!
Kali is the goddess of time, death and change. She is the goddess of liberation or enlightenment. She is the liberator of souls and destroyer of all negativity in us. She makes us understand that we are being of spirits and not flesh and so liberation can only prevail when our attachment to the body comes to an end. The garland of skulls symbolize having liberate her children from attachment to the limited body.​ ​
Kali is made of modeling chocolate, her dress of ricepaper, and all the tiny skulls on her montain are made of fondant!
