Well, another family cake, and another great opportunity to experiment some more with the ‘paint’ ;)
Do you know what symbolizes 21 years of marriage ? Brass and nickel … Hmm, that idea didn’t really excite me, so back to a bit of brainstorming (yep, easier said sometimes !) and came up with the good old traditional imagery of doves, hearts, flowers, you know, the usual Hallmark stuff … And then I looked at all kinds of Folk art and HAD to do something (I think I’ve found a new love, be warned !!) A-a-a-nyway …

Ok, so here is the finished ‘canvas’ … The Folksy cake that went on its travels to Wales today ready to celebrate a 21st Wedding Anniversary (my Mom and step-dad actually ). An extra deep (as tall as it was round) 6" toffee, salted caramel, crushed pecan and Caramac ganache cake, all hand painted and all edible, including the sugar heart topper. Ahh, another little self-challenge, but I did enjoy getting the brushes out again – and playing with colour too !! Hope you like it !! <3

(The design is not my own, but copied from an image by the Vintage Folk Artist that I came across whilst looking at lovebirds, turtle doves (turns out they’re not THAT pretty !) and hearts for inspiration)
