This cake was covered in an ivory colored fondant. We then added white fondant bands. Royal icing was also used for some smaller details. The complete secret to a cake like this is to use Fondarific for the “white” part on this cake. You have to poke all the holes in the bands while on the work table, chill them so they don’t lose their shape and then apply to the cake, Better when two people deal with the bands applications. It took a long time to cut all of the holes even with plunger cutters, so the extended work time of Fondarific was necessary. I tried it in Satin Ice as it would crack, break and doesn’t get firm enough in the fridge to hold its’ shape.

I love this look. I really like the working time you get with fondarrific. I use it all the time. This cake is simply adorable.

I love the simplicity of this cake, even though I know it took forever to poke all those holes. The Broderie Anglaise look is beautiful xx
