I made this cake for a local charity black and white carnival themed event. The inspiration came form my recent trip to Venice where there are so many masks on display for sale and endless patterns and features to use for inspiration. I have seen the cube pattern on many cakes but was shocked to see that Venetian architects used it in their designs centuries ago.
