This is the cake for my son’s first Holy Communion. I didn’t want to put the traditional chalice, grapes, cross design (because I just did that). So I made him pose for the camera and I took a Silhouette shot. Yes, that indeed is his Silhouette. :) Those molds on the cake board were molds from Way Beyond Cakes by Mayen. It also goes around the side of the cake.
I thought Black and Ivory would be elegant and dramatic :)
And then, for a punch of color, I made this cross emblem, still molded out of fondant. It is special because the design of the cross was taken from the First Communion banner which he himself made. I thought it would be a nice touch to put it on the cake.
This, BTW is an 8” choco-banana cake with Chocolate Fudge Filling.
Thanks for looking!
