Mmmmm…some hate it, some love it, but trying to colour fondant purple never works out for me. Mainly because the colour always fades to blue in a matter of hours :-( Sigh…..
I have learned my lesson in 2013 when i made purple flowers for my wedding cake and ended up with blue! (early days of my cake decorating adventure) I now airbrush them with Americolor. Never had a problem since.
Incidentally, I have read somewhere that if you add pink to purple fondant, it is less likely to turn blue….? (have not tested this theory)……………(Addit) ok I now know where I read it at, thank you Violet from The Violet Cake Shop! Violet says it needs to be deep pink or Wilton Rose otherwise it won’t work xo

Beautiful….have to love it cause my fave colour and lol. And you read that tip from my page hehe…I remember you posting your wedding cake pics on the post to show what happened to your wedding cake. It does work (and I use the tip a lot as I use purple a lot lol) but it needs to be deep pink or Wilton Rose and you need to over colour it so it’s more pinkish than you want it to end up…that way when the red/pink portion fades, it will leave the shade you want. =D
