I made this cake for my anniversary/ birthday. All our family is in South Africa & though we are blessed to be living in Australia, this cake is for all of our family back in Africa , your in our thoughts every day! This is a heavy fruitcake, hand painted with black gel color in ivory fondant. I used brush size 00, 0 and 1 for most of the outlining and finer work, and a no. 4 for the fill in color. My inspiration was a plate our parents gave us on our last trip to Africa, I love this plate. The cake has the Big 5 , Buffalo, Rhino, Elephant, Leopard & Lion. Also has Kudu, Giraffe, Guinea Fowl & African Fish Eagle. Thanks for looking xx
