A grooms cake in red velvet, frosted in buttercream, and piping in all buttercream. Brushed with some gold airbrush around piped edges and sides, and gold shimmer spray on the sides.
My first time on using isomalt. For the center stone, I poured melted Isomalt in rectangle plastic jewel mold tray. I piped white buttercream where I wanted to place the stone and put them side by side until against edge of area I wanted to cover. I piped BC around edge of center stone.
(I sprayed tray w/ veg. oil before pouring isomalt as directed.)
Also piped dark brown or chocolate BC on top of cake where finger would insert into ring. And, edged piped beaded boarder #5.
I shaved sides of a 2-layer 10-in. round cake about 2 inches in and put on top of cake to fill in for dome shape look. I wish I had done a 3-layer cake instead of 2-layer but cake shaved from sides worked well, and I glued shaved cake on top with BC.
