Carnival Cupcakes, Popcorn, Goldfish, & Ice Cream Cones

Cake by whitecrafty posted 403 days ago 1407 views 6 times favorited 13 comments Add to Favorites

I made these carnival themed cupcakes for my grandson’s preschool carnival. I had so much fun making them! I made the popcorn cups by cutting down 7oz plastic cups, and wrapping them with popcorn papers that I made. Cupcakes topped with mini marshmallows. I just popped the cupcake into the plastic cup still in their liners. It worked really well. I baked the cake right in the ice cream cones, and topped with butter cream icing and sprinkles. I used M & M’s for the goldfish lips and scales, and a chocolate chip for the eye and a gumpaste tail.

I LOVE these cupcakes – how inventive, fun and exciting~!!! How did you do the popcorn wrapper? I’d love to borrow your idea for my grandson’s next birthday!

Thank you for sharing!

Thank you Funfetti! I will send you a copy of the popcorn wrappers I made, and you can print them off. They are actually a different shape than the ones you would wrapped around a regular cupcake, since the plastic cups are a little bigger.

Hi These are so cute! I would love to have a copy of the wrapper also. I work at a middle school and we have an event once every grading period, (every 9 week) and this would be great for our “Popcorn for Progress” event. We could surprise them with a cupcake instead of popcorn. :)

Toni, I too would love a copy! Maybe you could even submit it as a tutorial. I’m sure that other people would love it too! =O)
