Tom loves Manchester United, and his idol is Carrick who had a photo taken in this pose (last photo).
Olivia wanted to surprise him with a Birthday cake of him in the same pose (the coloured socks are a standing joke that he always plays football in different coloured socks which are usually falling down) .

This cake presented me with a challenge to get the arms to hold the weight, it was requested quite near the time it was needed for, so not a lot of drying time. And I couldn’t quite get the angle of the arms right and not 100% happy with the size and shape of the arms (the first pair were brilliant, but those fell off!!).
After a few attempts which ended in the arms falling off in the middle of the night!! – I added a support which should be able to be removed after it’s dried out well.
I needed to deliver it quite a distance away so I packed ‘Tom’ up well in a box for transit and held my breath all the way there. After arriving there almost blue in the face and a few heart attack moments it arrived safely thank goodness.
But Olivia was really pleased with it, and I think Tom will be too xx
Thank you for looking xx
