Chinese Lantern

I made this cake using panels of hand painted wafer paper. I put little bud lights between the cake and the wafer paper to make it look like the lamp was on. The Chinese says “Happy Birthday”. I was really happy with how sharp I managed to get the sides and edges of the cake, but when I put the panels of black over the rice paper, it made the panels a bit wrinkly. Oh well, the trials of trying something new!
