What a fun cake to make for Henry Mann, who races classic cars very successfully at Goodwood, Silverstone and other famous tracks. His mother Sharon asked me if I could make a Ford Mustang topper with the red and gold Alan Mann colours and if I could also add something to do with his love of the tenor sax and books. So I came up with this concoction. The musical notes are ‘happy birthday’. The candle at the front has the outline map of goodwood circuit with 30 painted in the middle and the Goodwood logo on the front has ‘Henry Mann Racing’ painted on it.

I was a bit worried before handing it over because the car dimensions weren’t all that accurate but I needn’t have been. Henry was bowled over (I am told!) and he took it back to London to take into work to share it with them. How lovely!

10" boozy fruit cake. Everything else is made with sugar.
