My 10-year-old daughter requested a watercolor painted cake in her favorite colors of blue and purple. The pops of coral were added because that’s my favorite color! Two tiers of almond cake brushed with orange liqueur, filled with fresh strawberries, vanilla orange custard and vanilla buttercream then topped in fondant and hand painted using edible colors mixed with vodka. Loved making this one for many reasons: for one it was for my baby girl’s birthday (10th birthday yes, but she is still my baby); plus, I worked with some new techniques, which I really enjoyed using.
