Pastal floral Birthday cake

This was a very quick cake decoration for my Mother’s 82nd Birthday this year. The flowers were the easiest I’ve done, just cut out with a fluted pastry cutter and layered up. The little flowers were a circle folded and rolled.
The cake is a trial flavour which went down very well, a lighter take on my Christmas fruit cake recipe, but instead of using all the flower I replaced some with cocoa powder which gave the cake a mellow flavour and lighter texture. I’ll definitely use the recipe again xx
