Alexandra’s mom called me few days ago asking if all is going well for her daughter’s cake on Sunday (she called Thursday evening) and I was totally surprised as her email said the cake was due July 8th and it turned out she wanted it for June 8th. Needless to say I made the cake, could not do any figure modeling but it so happened that Alexandra wanted to use her favorite Barbie, Ariel, on her cake so I used that. This is a rather large cake with a large doll so I had to keep the decoration minimal on top so not overwhelm the doll and added the sea life on the sides of the cake. I also did not mix color too much for the blue fondant to keep a “water” marbled effect!!
