This was my first cake that I did for someone that wasn’t a friend or family member. It was for my boss’ wife’s baby shower (intimidating right?) She was very particular about what she wanted (ie she wanted “beige” fondant, I later figured out that meant ivory) and I was very nervous about this cake. I had never made anything 3D for a cake so I’m pretty happy with how the shoes turned out. Side note… at 12am the night before this cake was due.. the fondant completely ripped down the side and I had to start all over. So this was also my first major cake disaster so I am EXTREMELY happy with what I was able to do with my half asleep brain and frantic nerves at 3am haha. Practice makes perfect :-) The cake is almond with vanilla bean buttercream and vanilla fondant.
