I made this cake for my neighbor. Their daughter’s communion is this weekend. I was given free reign on the cake so I tried a few techniques I have been dying to try. If you read the forums you know I had a little trouble with the purple fondant but in the end it all turned out okay.

This is the first time I tried pleating and the first time I used my damask silicone onlay. I had a little trouble with both but in the end I think it turned out good. I used real roses in between the layers. The original design for this cake was from Lesley over at Royal Bakery.
