I thought I would see how much difference it would make taking my tortoise cake outside to photograph. I like that it sets a scene, especially for an animal shaped cake. Both lots of photos taken on a phone. Will also get my camera out. I think photography makes such a difference but I am still trying to find ways to do it well with limited resources.

Haven’t looked at the other yet but the background does look fitting and your cake looks great! His she’ll is fab. Funnily enough just had today’s cake in the garden trying to get some pics but struggled…

Thank you Mel, it did feel a bit weird taking a cake outside, but I think I’ll do it more often and take back grounds to use, it’s nice to have good natural light but it can be hit and miss. These were taken about 4pm so no direct sun.

Cake is great! I also struggle with taking decent pics. I gave up.on my camera cause I was useless. Use my IPad now. But proper lighting is always the key. Download getpaint.net to your computer. Good software to change background, lighting, etc. for your pics….

I will have a look at that, thanks June. I use photogene at the moment but don’t understand what half the functions are! :-)
