Pink Peony and Teapot

Pink Peony and Teapot

This is the cake that the white magnolia was going to go on, but a few petals were damaged and I had made this pink peony as a back-up flower. I love how it turned out. I made it for a silent auction at a fundraiser for cancer in our town. For 5 years now, they have a ladies tea and auction and everyone gets in the spirit by decorating their table with a theme. The ladies get quite creative. I made a little teapot and cup and saucer out of fondant. The cake is 6" tall and it’s the first time I’ve covered a cake board in fondant (I know – what took me so long!)

Thanks ever so much, ladies — Sugarpixy, June, Toni, Viiolet and Elli. It was a very meaningful cause, as my daughter is still going through cancer. Done with treatments now tho.
