Say hello to popular Japanese singer Hatsune Miku Chan who has a song and dance for everything, including her favourite food, vegetables! With her headphone stuck to her head and music blaring into her ears, she’ll break out in song any time and any where. Here she is, with one hand in a Kawaii pose and the other holding onto a stick of leeks, singing and dancing to the tune of her “Po Pi Po” vegetable song. Her turquoise pony tails are flying up as she goes through the vigorous moves and grooves of her dance with her body language saying, “Eat your greens else I am coming after you with my leeks!”

Made this rather last minute cake (5 days) for my friend’s daughter Jasmine’s 12th birthday. Jasmine loves Japanese anime and chose the character Hatsune Miku (Chibi version) to be the 3D sugar figure for her cake. I couldn’t resist making Miku’s pony tails flying up and defying gravity although pics of her depict her hair otherwise. I was worried that Jasmine wouldn’t like it but she made my day when she messaged me, thanking me for a “super ‘kawaii’ cake and Hatsune Miku on top was amazing”.

I decorated the front of the cake with a two toned bow in black and deep fuschia to match the ribbons on Miku’s hair. I took inspiration for this bow from The Violet Cake Shop who had decorated two of her gorgeous cakes with it and who had done an awesome tutorial recently on CakesDecor http://cakesdecor.com/entries/1198-two-toned-bow-tutorial.
