The couple I made this for kept the top tier of their wedding cake. I didn’t make their wedding cake so I was a little worried when I peeled back the old 2 year old icing but the cake was absolutely fine and nobody was ill as a result. It always amazes me how long a fruit cake will last. This is the only occasion I will Ice another persons cake.
