This was my first attempt at a Bird Cage Cake. I made it for my grandmother who turned 88 on March 7th. It was special to me since my Grandmother has Alzheimer’s and for the first time in a VERY long time she opened up her eyes and actually spoke when she saw the cake. In her little voice she uttered “mi piace” in Italian ( which means she liked it)....that was more than I could have asked for. How happy was I that she reacted to the cake! Simply amazing!
